Retirement of the Sage 200 Manufacturing module

Sage 200 Manufacturing module entering extended support from 1st January 2021…

Sage has announced that the Sage 200 Manufacturing module will be retired, with new sales ending on the 1st November 2020 and the module entering extended support from the 1st January 2021. Whilst the module is being retired, existing customers will therefore continue to be supported whilst the version of Sage 200 in use by each customer is within Sage support.

The reason for Sages decision is that they want to focus their development resources on the core Sage 200 solution and there was already a growing Manufacturing module from Sicon within the Sage 200 ecosystem. Sage have therefore entered into a new strategic partnership with Sicon which will see Sage providthe Sicon Manufacturing Suite as their solution of choice for Manufacturing, which can now only be ordered by Business Partners through Sage.

In addition to being easier to use and sitting within Sages menusSicon Manufacturing provides a modular approach for areas like Works orders, capacity planning, and MRPIt also opens up the capability for you to implement the integrated Shop Floor Data Capture and Barcode and Warehousing additional solutions to further enhance your business operations.

Sicon Manufacturing suite is being regularly enhanced, something that wasnt happening with the Sage module hence the decision is not totally unexpected, and seamlessly integrates with Sage 200cloud Professional. It uses the Sage 200 Bill of Materials module at its core, and as a result, migration is relatively simple process.

Using Sage 200 Manufacturing?

If youre currently using the Sage Manufacturing module, well be in touch to discuss the migration process and offers available to you, as well as likely timescales so that you can plan accordingly. Whilst there is no immediate urgency to migrate to Sicon Manufacturing suite, it isnt something youll want to leave until you have to do it through the end of support on your current Sage 200 version, acting early will give more time to plan in, manage and carry out the move.

Sages current offer is that UK Sage 200 Manufacturing module customers who purchase & migrate to the Sicon Manufacturing suite between 8th October 2020 and 30th June 2021 will receive a 20% discount off the RRP for their first year of subscription (subject to promotional terms).

In addition to upgrading directly to Sicon Manufacturing suite, two other useful opportunities to action the move include when you upgrade to the latest version of Sage 200cloud, and when you upgrade your server infrastructure such as moving to Microsoft Azure cloud, Sages strategic cloud platform and now the default solution for new and existing customers.
