Wharncliffe and Sage 200c Deliver ‘Unified Accounts’ at 4net Technologies

With an impressive 33% year on year growth rate, it’s clear that 4net Technologies is doing most things right but Vanessa Worsley, Head of Finance at 4net Technologies realised that the company’s accounting function still needed to be overhauled to help provide a more solid base to support future growth.

4net Technologies sells, implements and supports complex telecommunications structures to medium and large-scale enterprise customers. From its Manchester HQ, the business supplies many central and local government departments, public sector organisations and private companies with all the latest telecommunications hardware and software technology to unify their communications.

Vanessa explains. “Generally, new business sales are achieved through winning complex tenders which subsequently involve long-term, phased installations all around the UK so we were keen to implement a system which would easily allow us to track project costs and revenues against tender values, generate the relevant customer invoices and run detailed enquiries on any aspect of any project.”

She continues. “We had also become too reliant on spreadsheet-based reporting and had outgrown Sage 50. We needed a more advanced accounting system which we could integrate with other in-house systems, better reporting and one which would allow us to cleanse our legacy data and set up a new multi-dimensional nominal accounts structure.”

“Wharncliffe came across as a very professional business which was keen to listen to and understand all our requirements. They demonstrated and explained the pros and cons of various options and provided an excellent list of customer references,”

Vanessa’s initial enquiry to Sage UK was referred to leading Sage 200 BP, Barnsley based Wharncliffe Business Systems Ltd. “I had to feel confident in our supplier’s ability to handle our implementation and deal with any questions or on-going issues and from our initial meeting, Wharncliffe came across as a very professional business which was keen to listen to and understand all our requirements. They demonstrated and explained the pros and cons of various options and provided an excellent list of customer references,” she concludes.

4net Technologies now benefits from a Microsoft cloud-based Sage 200c Financials with Project Accounting system, supplied and supported by Wharncliffe which is fully integrated with their specialist customer billing systems.
